Tech leaders mourn Gordon Moore’s death, recognize him as a true visionary
Gordon Moore, the creator of Moore’s Law and the founder of the technology giant Intel, has died at the age of 94. According to Intel and Gordon and Betty, Moore died peacefully “surrounded by family at his home in Hawaii.” Moore Foundation.
Moore’s passing has stunned the technology community, as he was instrumental in formulating important technology concepts such as Moore’s Law, demonstrating the potential of transistors, and motivating technology innovators for several generations.
The tech industry is mourning the loss of the global visionary, with tech leaders such as Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Apple CEO Tim Cook offering their condolences.
Tim Cook said that Gordon Moore was a true visionary and one of the founders of Silicon Valley. His contribution was decisive for the technological revolution.

Sundar Pichai mourned Moore’s passing and cited him as an inspiration in his pursuit of technology.

Gordon Moore was born in 1929 in San Francisco, and later went on to earn a Ph.D. in chemistry from Caltech in 1954. He also received the National Medal of Technology in 1990 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002. Moore is survived by his wife, two sons, and four grandchildren.
